Acceptable Use Policy

Draft — pending legal review. Last edited 2026-09-04.

This policy is part of our Terms of Service and covers the two things that are yours when you use Trebuchet: the compute you run, and the data you upload.

1. Compute

A backtest, sweep or validation runs on a worker pool shared with every other workspace. Use it fairly: don't try to consume a disproportionate share of it, automate submissions to exhaust it, or otherwise degrade the Service for other users. Runs are subject to the Service's fair-use limits (job size, concurrency and retention), which apply per workspace and per plan.

2. Market data you upload

You are responsible for having the rights to any instrument data (CSV or otherwise) you upload — whether that's a data vendor's license terms, an exchange's redistribution rules, or simply data you're personally entitled to use. Don't upload data you don't have the right to use with a tool like this one.

3. Prohibited conduct

4. Enforcement

A violation of this policy may result in a warning, throttling, suspension, or termination of your account, depending on severity — see the Termination section of our Terms of Service.

5. Contact

Report a suspected violation, or ask about this policy, at [contact email].
